Human DiI High Density Lipoprotein is a fluorescently labeled, endogenous-like nanoparticle utilized in biotechnology research to study lipid metabolism, cellular uptake, and receptor-mediated targeting via scavenger receptor type B1 (SR-BI). It consists of a hydrophobic core of cholesteryl esters and triglycerides enclosed by a phospholipid corona containing apolipoprotein A-I, which acts as a biomimetic nanocarrier scaffold. The incorporation of the lipophilic DiI fluorophore enables precise visualization and tracking in optical imaging, confocal microscopy, and flow cytometry applications.
