About Big-Gastrin

Big gastrin (also known as G-34) is a peptide portion of gastrin containing 34 amino acids. It acts as a hormone produced by G cells of the stomach. G-34 has been shown to promote the secretion of gastric acid in certain species. Research has shown that extracts of antral mucosa contained large amounts of a peptide similar to the amino-terminal fragment of G34.
