6-deoxy-6-[(5/6)-fluoresceinylthioureido]-HPBCD (FITC-HPBCD) is a fluorescently labeled hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin derivative modified at the primary hydroxyl rim with a fluorescein moiety via a stable thioureido linkage. Featuring random hydroxypropylation on its secondary hydroxyl rim, it maintains water solubility while offering a average degree of substitution suitable for tracing applications. It is widely used as a laboratory reagent in biological research, fluorescence microscopy, cellular uptake studies, and host-guest complexation.
