n-Nonyl-β-maltoside (NM-C) is a non-ionic surfactant derived from maltose with a hydrophobic nonyl group. It has amphiphilic properties, allowing interaction with both hydrophilic and hydrophobic substances. NM-C has a purity of > 99.5% and can reduce surface tension, stabilizing emulsions and solubilizing otherwise insoluble compounds.
