Acid Red 26 is a member of the synthetic red azo dye family and is used to add red color. It is also known by its chemical name, Erythrosine. It is used in Masson’s trichrome, where it gives a slight orange shading to the red of the cytoplasmic structures. It has a role as a histological dye, a cardiotoxic agent and a carcinogenic agent. This product has been used as a molecular tool for various biochemical applications. It has also been used in a wide array of other chemical and immunological applications.
